Aluminum heavier than Steel???

Steel 1 pound propane tank is stamped 1.4 pounds in the photo but the aluminum 1 pound tank weighs 1.7 pounds and is much more expensive. If the aluminum one ways more and is more expensive why would anyone buy the aluminum one over the steel one? Please explain. Thank you.

The 1LB aluminum is heavier than the steel. The advantage is that it doesn’t rust, so great for marine and outdoors etc.. The 1lb aluminum would be the only one heavier than the steel, all our other aluminum tanks are lighter.
